Declining audience numbers, shrinking bar revenues, and changing nightlife habits: clubs and festivals are struggling to survive. Yet, six-figure crowdfunding campaigns and ever-growing major event organizers continue to thrive. Why does the current event model work for some venues but fail for others? How can we talk about funding and money more sustainably? And is the challenge in the causes – or the lack of universal solutions? After an introduction to club funding in Basel, a panel will dive into these questions with nuance and practical insights.
