MUSIC ETHNOLOGIST, CURATOR AT PLANET EARS FESTIVAL, ALTE FEUERWACHE MANNHEIM, LONDON/MANNHEIM

RIM JASMIN IRSCHEID

Rim Irscheid studied music ethnology at the University of Oxford and is currently completing his PhD at the department of music at King's College London under the supervision of Professor Martin Stokes. Her doctoral work looks at the curation of post-migrant cultural productions in Germany and Arabic/German collaborations in experimental music and sound art. As part of the Planet Ears symposium for global contemporary culture, the music ethnologist is curating a symposium on global music approaches to German curatorial practice. In 2021, she won the British Forum for Ethnomusicology (BFE) Fieldwork Grant.
