Pia Portmann (she/her) is a DJ, workshop leader and nightlife activist. She merges politics and music in her activities, projects and events. For example, she initiated the Queens* of HipHop Festival. Outside of the stage, she has taken on a diverse range of roles, such as in the areas of festival coordination, booking and production management. As a department head at Musikbüro Basel, she is responsible for the areas of newcomer, awareness and advice. In this framework, she is responsible for the residency programme "TransHelvetiQ". Musikbüro Basel promotes, advises and connects people within the pop music scene in the region of Basel. Pia studied philosophy, English language studies and gender studies.
