Loïc Riom works at the University of Lausanne and teaches at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne. He has a doctorate in sciences and technology studies (Centre de sociologie de l'innovation de l'École supérieure des Mines de Paris). His research interests are at the intersection of the sociology of music and the social study of innovation. He mainly works in the live music markets, concert production and new financing formats within the musical industry. In 2018, he and Marc Perrenoud co-edited the book, "Music in Switzerland from a social science perspective" (Sociograph, Geneva). More recently, he has cooperated on different projects with the FCMA, Petzi, the "Centre national de la musique" in France and the Cultural Heritage & Innovation Center at EPFL.
