Andreas Wegelin studied music theory, art history and law at the University of Bern. Since 1987, he has held various positions at SUISA, the Cooperative Society of Music Authors and Publishers, first as Assistant Director, then as Head of the New Media Department and a member of the Executive Board. He has been CEO of SUISA since 2010. In addition, he engages in various activities in foundations as well as in the Swiss Music Council and in international umbrella organisations and also works in the area of development aid for collecting societies in Indonesia and Colombia.
Since 2017, he has been Chair of the Board of Directors of Mint Digital Services, the joint venture between SUISA and the American company SESAC for licences in online music distribution.
