Maria Mitterfellner spent her childhood as a classical musician: she played the violin for 15 years, sang arias and won prizes. Then came 2020, a heartbreak and with it a cut: the Vaud native learned to play the guitar, turned her back on classical music and wrote an indie pop album expressing her personality and all her emotions. Mary Middlefield was born and with her a dreamy, complex guitar sound that was a liberation - and sounds like one too.
