Dino Brandão's favourite moments are those that don't go quite to plan, that aren't quite perfect. These are the kinds of moments the artist from Baden creates on his EP "Bouncy Castles". He played three sold-out Bogen F shows in autumn 2021, and now Dino Brandão is set to play his first Zurich Festival headline show. Following the collaborative work "Ich liebe Dich" recorded by the ever-active "Cancioneiro" ("songbook") during lockdown in 2020 together with Sophie Hunger and Faber, he worked on songs in which he processed hard blows from his past, his anxieties and his hopes. The first EP he released as a solo artist deals with identity, which he describes as a shattered mirror. He uses the medium of music to show how masterpieces can be created from lots of individual fragments. In his music, kizomba meets jazz and chamber pop, while samba meets psychedelic rock and hip hop. Dino Brandão describes his unique mix simply as "Afro-psych".
