Oje Ken Ollivierre aka Protoje is showing the way forward for Reggae, a genre rich in tradition from Jamaica. His first hit was "Rasta Love" in 2011 and he has been the poster boy of the Jamaican Modern Roots Reggae scene since his debut album "The Seven Year Itch" (2011). He also promotes Jamaican female artists including Lila Iké, Sevana and Jaz Elise as label owner of In.Digg.Nation Collective. In his keynote talk with moderator Lukie Wyniger, he talks about his career and label as well as cultural appropriation and how he equates his music with political responsibility. Protoje has toured with Lauryn Hill and played at several internationally renowned festivals, such as Afropunk, Coachella and Glastonbury. He has released six albums, the most recent being "Third Time's The Charm" (2022), which was nominated for a Grammy in 2023.
