The lockdowns are over, and concerts and festivals are taking place again. But in many places audiences are yet to return in the numbers seen previously. The energy crisis, staff shortages and ever-increasing musicians' fees for headliner artists are also pushing up costs. Stagnating ticket sales and thrifty sponsors mean it is often difficult to bring in the needed income. On top of this, sustainability and diversity requirements are rising. Many festivals are coming under pressure. How are small and large festivals dealing with the current situation? Will it be the small festivals or the large ones that survive? And how will Switzerland's festival landscape change over the next few years?
