Giulia Dabalà spent her childhood in Myanmar – the artist from Western Switzerland draws her inspiration for her experimental dark pop from music all around the world, spanning all kinds of genres. She won in the pop category at the 2020 Demotape Clinic for her song "War Drums", as well as "Demo of the Year", and was nominated for "Ines Talent Showcase Europe" as the only Swiss representative. While she was still layering vocals on her first EP "Voices" (2017), using beatboxing to create a rhythmic foundation, Giulia Dabalà enriches her more recent songs with harmonies, different samples and synthesisers inspired by jazz. Her debut album is set for release this year.
